Built Your Way: HUD Manufactured or Modular

The Acadia can be built two different ways depending on your property, location, and financing needs: as a HUD-certified manufactured home or as a modular home in South Carolina or North Carolina.

A HUD-certified manufactured home is built to the national construction and safety standards established by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. These standards cover important areas like structural strength, fire safety, energy efficiency, plumbing, electrical systems, and wind performance. Because HUD homes are federally regulated and built to a recognized national code, they can offer a strong path for financing, appraisal, and long-term value when properly installed.

A modular home is also built in a climate-controlled facility, but it is constructed to meet state and local residential building codes rather than the federal HUD Code. Modular homes are delivered on a frame, lifted, and permanently installed on a foundation, much like a traditional site-built home. Sweet-Haus is licensed to build modular homes in South Carolina and North Carolina, giving buyers in those states another flexible option for the Acadia.

Whether built as a HUD-certified manufactured home or as a modular home, the Acadia delivers the same thoughtful design, efficient layout, premium finishes, and factory-controlled craftsmanship Sweet-Haus is known for.
